UB - University at Buffalo, The State University of New York Biomedical Engineering

BME Undergraduate Program

Undergraduate students learn to apply mathematical methods, science concepts, and experimental techniques of engineering to solve complex biological and medical problems in both the classroom and laboratory.

From the first day in the program, students are exposed to the multidisciplinary nature of biomedical engineering through a seminar series tailored for freshmen. The undergraduate curriculum imparts fundamental learning in mathematics, physics, chemistry, basic biology, and engineering. The BME core courses provide hands-on engineering experience that involve design and modeling. Our students are encouraged to explore particular interests in greater depth. Students have numerous opportunities to participate in research and watch medical discoveries move from bench to bedside.
